I've had a similar problem before. Try to just give him the brush, if you can ~ stop answering his phone calls, avoid him if you can. If he's a normal, mature fellow he should (eventually) get the hint. If not, you may just have to tell him something like, "This doesn't feel right to me/ This isn't working for me. I think you're a great guy but I don't think we should have this type of relationship anymore... etc." I know that is hard but it should get him off your back and move on with his life.

Drop him like a hot potato and turn a cold shoulder to him. Tell him you do not want to be home wrecker and you made a mistake.

Tell him that after careful consideration you don't want to continue in any way with him and it's best for all concerned to leave it that way.

just say you had a change of heart and you don't feel the same way he did. tell him to stay with his wife and that it would be good for him.
oh & change your phone number, and move possibly.

tell him it wasnt good for you,, who cares if his wife finds out that will be his problem, and you can always lie and say he has been stalking you
