I'm a true believer in Christ. I think animals suffer. It doesn't conflict with my understanding at all.

I, for one, have had many, many Christians tell me that it's wrong for me to be a vegetarian because the Bible says that God gave humans animals for their own use.

The suffering of animals raised for slaughter does not factor into their arguments (either they do not think that animals suffer or they do not think that it matters).

I havent yet heard a believer, true or otherwise claim animals dont suffer.

They do? I hadn't heard this.

If someone is teaching children that animals do not suffer, we need to forcibly separate that person from those children. That's just plain sick and irresponsible.

Later: It looks like you were wrong in your assumption. I strongly suggest that you go back and check your sources about this: it's the intellectually honest thing to do.

True believers in what?

I am a Christian, and it wrenches my heart the way people treat animals. I saw a video of how KFC treats their chickens a year back and I was in tears for days.
