I use to have this friend of mine, he was seriously attracted to groups of females within the ages of 8 - 11, and he was only attracted to girls that age. He never grew out of it, I haven't spoken to him in a while so I don't know what's happened with this. Well my question is, can this be cured? How?

It can't be cured. However some people are able to control it and not act on their preferences with the help of medications, psych therapy, and various other therapies. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure those people are the minority. It really is beginning to seem that the only course of action is life long imprisonment. It seems harsh but when it comes to children it's really better to be safe than sorry.

so sorry, i do think that you have lost a friend, he can not be cured, he has a dangerous sick disease, stay away from him, the old saying goes, "you are judged by the company you keep" an i doubt you want to judged as a pedophile, he needs to turn himself in to the proper authorities an seek help before he hurts some innocent child, that's help---not cure !!sorry!! i know that's not what you want to hear but it is the truth!! good luck with you life !!

Maybe with a lot of psyciatric help, though it may never fully go away, like he might be attracted to women of his own age but never fully stop liking the younger girls too

Actually convicted pedophiles have gone as far as castration and chemical intervention to stop themselves from repeating actual offenses against children and nothing seems to work...there are many studies on this subject BUT I seriously doubt your friend "outgrew it" You may find he is in jail somewhere if he ever acted on his "love..."

Sad to say but help yes cure never.....those sick feelings may leave for awhile but they will surface again. and the process will repeat itself.....maybe someday all children will be safe again....that is my WISH....KARA
