The body is about 75% water. As you breath out you breath out water. As you sweat, you loose water, as you pee you lose water. All the body chemical reactions take place in water. You need it to wash out wastes that the kidneys filter out. You need it to help the food move along and digest. Your blood needs water replacement all the time.
