You can't make him take you seriously. You can end the relationship if he isn't what you want, though. Sounds like that might be a good choice.

If the parents didnt like him, there is probably a good reason. I have found out it is very good to stay away from people who are still in love with their ex. Give him much space, go out and date someone else, then you will see where he really stands and not sit around in limbo either. There are to many of them out there not to get all you deserve.

leave him..he's not worth it. find yourself a guy that takes you seriously! dont let this guy hurt you..i went through the same thing..if he wants her let him have her..but don't stoop to his level..i know you probably love him and you don't want to leave but im telling you from experience its never going to change. but if he really had feelings for you and is over her..once you leave hell come running back to you..stay strong.
