What a great idea!! It's estimated that there are 8.5 milliiion illegal aliens in the US. Why don't we round them up and send them to Iraq. We'd tell them that as soon as they got the job done in Iraq they could come back as full-fledged American citizens. If you were Iraq and saw 8.5 million illegal aliens from the US arriving, wouldn't you do whatever we wanted you to do to get them out of your country?

Because if Iraq offered the illegal aliens big bucks, then there would be 140 thousand more people for the Americans to fight.

Well, in order for that to work, the incentive of citizenship would have to be there to keep them from becoming turncoats.
It's hard for Mexicans to get citizenships. A lot of the illegals who are here, hiding from the system, make it even MORE difficult.
I feel that if there were incentives of citizenship, not only would they be willing to fight, but they would remain LOYAL to the US.

actually they are sending some. one of my cousins enlisted right before the war in iraq broke out along with a few other friends because they were promised citizenship. i'm sure if that was still in effect many more would enlist,but yet again that wouldn't look too good on behalf of the U.S.

That is a good idea. The American Civil Liberties Union would opine that "undocumented immigrants" have contributed so much to this great nation that they are thus above the law and may forego a draft. I wouldn't understand their case, so I'd protest and write letters or I'd just sit back because I know I couldn't do anything about it and wallow in my insignificance. Depends on my mood I guess?

They can still obtain citizenship from joining up.I think the language barrier would only hinder things it would be mass confusion to many languages nobody could be sure what to do.

the U.S. army already recruits illegal immigrants, and as a reward they give them citizenship. They are not illegal once they are given citizenship
