Talk to your doctor or a nutritionist about how many calories you should be eating a day. Also talk to them about fat intake, sugar, carbs, etc. Set a limit for each one and don't go over it. You can find lots of low-fat, low-carb foods and snacks so that you don't feel like you are depriving yourself. Healthy eating is the answer. Also, stay active! Start a workout program and vary your routine so that you won't get bored. Losing 50 pounds in a year is a very realistic goal (most experts say the way to lasting weight loss is to lose 5-7 lbs a month) and I wish you the best of luck!

Eat exactly half of what you eat now, in amounts, but still eat food that tastes good, or you will quit. Nobody stays on a diet they hate. Sp, like I told another writer, if you eat 3,500 calories less than you usually do you will lose a pound. Do not be afraid to throw awy food because your health and appearance are worth more than worrrying about wasting some food. Remember that restaurants always are more fattening than is healthy and the portions are much bigger than is safe fot your health, regularly. Finally I had said to somebody else, if you drink sugared soda you can lose at least a pound a week by stopping that. Often times a teen will drink more than one pounds' worth of calories in sugared pop, each week! Eat tasty food, but don't finish it, or do not take as much and you will definately lose weight. It is a fact. Also, tummy crunches (bent knees/doing sit ups only part of the way up) go to work fast, too. They can get abs in shape much faster than full sit-ups. My sister died from anorexia and laxitives. I bet she wishes she could come back and do it right.

eat a lot less and exercise a lot more.try walking briskly for at least an hour 7 days a week. just have the integrity to stick with the program. stop eating so much. and never eat after 6:00 PM you are strong willed . you can do it.

it is just a choice.
continue eating and be a fatty
or
eat less and be a cheerleader that the guys drool over

again a choice
enjoy eating and be a fatty and suffer
or suffer a little and be thin
you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

First remove the word diet from your language. You need to change the way you eat. This needs to be for life. First change two things. No more soda, only water. Second, no more white bread or potatoes. Do this for three weeks and see how you feel. When you are used to that and it feels ok, by the way you can eat a sandwich, just use whole wheat or whole grain bread, then make another change. No more chips, cakes, donuts or pastry of any kind. Replace it with apples and caramel dip, carrots and ranch dressing, fruit cups in own juice, bananna, or peanut butter and celery. Then change the amount of food you eat. Use a smaller plate. This will help you control portion size. Don't go for seconds unless it is salad wtihout creamy dressings, just oil and vinegar and maybe italian. Then make your food snacks and small meals ahead of time, slice, peel, and package in baggies so you can pick and go with the snacks that ae healthy. Buy small raisin boxes and mix with nuts that aren't in oil. Like walnuts, peanuts, almonds, these have protein and keep you from feeling hungry. Never skip or go without eating. Always eat something like yogurt or oatmeal in the morning. Boiled eggs, chicken, peanut butter crackers and some fruit or veggies in the morning, you will get too hungry and overeat if you skip because your blood sugar will drop and you will eat anything to get it up. Eat small frequent healthy snacks and meals during the day. Drink water and some juice. Don't drink diet soda, it is addicting and fattening. So is fast food, they make it that way to keep you coming back. After a while you won't even want it. I am not kidding. They do this to us, make it addicting to us. So, don't give your money to them to be unhealthy, just ask three questions when you go to eat something. Is this good for me? Do I need to eat this right now and Can I make a better choice or is this a good choice. If all is good then have the food or snack. then once in a while have a reward and don't feel guilty. As for exercise, just move. Whatever it is just do it. Dance to some great music in yhour room. Walk instead of ride. Biking and swimming are great if you can. Anything that you like is good. Pair up with someone and get them to encourage you as you encourage them. Good luck. Sounds like you want it. Just remember to eat, not die...t. OK? Love coming your way.

I'll try to help. Sounds like you need to look at the activity level you have now. Try and up it little by little and try taking a walk around the block everyday, then when that feels good, try jogging, then running.

As for a diet, try to stay a way from fast food, maybe have a burger and fries a couple times a month. Also you can try to avoid cooking with fatening oils and butter. Try to cook with water instead of oils. Try to get more carbohydrates into your diet, it will give you energy to excercise and you will be able to excercise longer. Hope this helps... ^_^

oh honey... yeah two hundred lbs isn't a nontoxic weight for a 14 12 months historical boy. How tall are you? I could critically advocate having your mum and dad take you to the loved ones health practitioner after which to a nutritionist. They will aid you (as in you and your entire loved ones, now not you on my own) arise with a plan in order that the entire loved ones is consuming good and getting adequate recreation. You desire to make sure you're consuming a well steadiness of meals comprising lean proteins (tuna, eggs, bird, center intelligent meat, salmon, cottage cheese, non fats usual/greek yogurt), well fat (ie from eggs, meat, nuts), and tremendously fibrous veggies (do not be petrified of salads and vivid colours). Cook and get ready your entire possess meals, or up to feasible. Plan forward and prepare dinner on Sundays for the week. Avoid processed and speedy meals up to feasible. That is what fuels making younger men and women obese. And reduce out soda if you're a large drinker. Drink plenty of water and watch our for fruit juices as they're calorie bombs. Try to do aerobic for your possess, however at your age the largest side is actually the nutrition. Clean up that nutrition and it is going to aid gas your progress and whilst that occurs it is going to aid lean you out, too. I understand this shall be particularly rough given as a child you do not need an excessive amount of manage. But attempt to get your mum and dad on board with you and notice what you'll be able to accomplish as a loved ones. Good good fortune!

You know what worked really good for me? I used to have gall stones in my gallbladder so I couldn't eat anything with high fat without ending up in the emergency room. If you look at the contents on your food I NEVER ate anything with over a 9% fat and I wasn't really super active just normal work and whatnot. I lost a good 60 lbs within a year shorter than that but I don't recall exactly how long. It was great!

this might sound really stupid, but what i did was i made my own plan. For breakfast i had like a fruit, a no sugar cereal. lunch was a salad, yogurt and crackers. a midday snack was like pretsels (unsalted) and for dinner i had whatever my mom made, but i had one serving, through which i chewwed reeaaallly slow, and i drank lots of water. I also made an excersise schedual, and bought an excersise tape. I also was a runner, so i tried going jogging more often. if u dont like jogging, go walking, and increase ur limit everday. it realy works! i lost about 10 pounds this way, in one month! o, for motivation, i had a picture of my favorite actor, and the ugliest guy in my school, and i would think about the hot guy and say "this is who ill get if i lose weight" then i would think about the ugly guy and say to myself, " this is who i get if i dont". it works! but most of all, dont give up! and dont starve urself. it just makes u reaally hungry, and then u binge. stick with it girl! i believe in u.

I've found that Weight Watchers is excellent!! With it, I'm rarely hungry and get to eat what I want (within reason, of course).

To lose 50 pounds in a year sounds like it should be very do-able.

Since you are 14, I'd recommend that you talk with your parents/guardians and doctor to see what they suggest.

Good luck to you.

well, if you're a cheerleader, you should be getting lots of exercise. I'd suggest going to a gym and lifting weights, or getting resistance bands and using them to help accelerate weight loss. Drink lots of water, get rid of junk food and replace it with fruit and veggies, make sure you get plenty of sleep. A doctor would probably have better ideas, though.
