Is he practical, or is he extravagant?
Is he simple or does he require a personal touch?
You can go as simple a nice gift card to his favorite shop, or a personal touch gift, where you got something personalized, engraved or his personal item bronzed.

We live in a world where we have almost everything that we need or want and since your relationship is so mature, don't waste money on another tie or watch or iPod. Find something that has a special meaning for both of you. For instance, I once gave my wife a framed picture of our very first photo together. She loved it.
