Sounds like a Tamale Pie to me. It takes the meal, meat, tomatoes crushed, w/k corn -black olives and chili powder to taste. But my mom put about 1/3 of the meat was real good sausage. She cooked the meat first and drained off the grease. You can mix the meal in to the srest of the ingred. or you can pour it on top as a crust. there are 100s of variations.
