The brain doesn't just die, but it would be possible to suffer a heart attack in that circumstance, especially if the heart was already weak. Obviously there's no way to tell if it actually happened or not.

It's possible, but not for the reason you imply. A person could have a nightmare and have their heart give out. They wouldn't have to even die during the dream. All they would have to do is stress their system over it's limits. And, their limits would have to be pretty low.

I've died during a dream so many times I can't count. The most memorable was the time I had my head blown off with a shotgun. I didn't wake up dead then, so I guess nothing in a dream would do it for me.

Yes. That is absolutely possible. A feasible (but unlikely) scenario would involve a sleeping person being shot dead at the same moment that the person is dreaming of being killed for falling. Likewise, a person could actually die while dreaming about flamingos or winning the lottery.

And how would they know, unless they survived the dream?

Anyway, one would think that someone with a weak heart might indeed suffer a heart attack during such a dream, but otherwise, everyone else wakes up normally.

Um..no...but if you're dreaming of suffocating and you're actually suffocating, like if your head is on the pillow and you can't breathe but you tihnk it's just in the dream, then I guess you could actually "die in your dream"

There is no evidence of this, since nobody who died in this manner can report what they were dreaming of, however I have dreamed many experiences that would be lethal and not died from them.
