i don't like the position of jews, christians or muslims. i hope for something better. i have tried buddhism but i think of buddhism as a form of psychological self-help than a religion. i chant, ring bells and think. i wait and try to fast. but aren't we due for something to replace the evil abrahamic orders again clashing in the old world?

Sorry. But I have to disagree with you, (in addition to thinking that the Abrahamic religions aren't evil). You hope for something better, but what can be better than a wonderful, merciful Father waiting for you in heaven?

Man-made religions. The term seems like an oxymorom to me. It would be the one thing you know you shouldn't believe in--the one religion that Couldn't be real. So how can you hope for a "better" religion? It implies invention.

Maybe you don't like it (Christianity, Judaism, or Islam) because you've never really tried it the correct way. Don't take other people's words for it. You have to read the Bible and form your own opinions--nothing else is required. Your walk with God can be what you want it to be--it doesn't have to be weekly Saterday or Sunday worship.

Look into the Divine Science of Light and Sound (original teachngs of the saints). It teaches the true message that Jesus (and other saints) tried to bring (but was misunderstood by most). It incorporates much of Buddhism but goes beyond ... it teaches respect for all individuals and all belief systems and that the object of all spirituality is LOVE.

It's not the religions that are evil, (though I do have reserevations about Islam), It's some of the people. There is no better faith (more than a rel.) than Christianity! it is the truth!

I wish I had time to answer your question more fully, but for now I'll keep it short.

First of all, if all you want from religion is something to do, obviously you are ready for any kind of commitment to any kind or religion. You want a religion that someone writes to make you happy? That's like asking for a veggie burger while you watch the McDonald's guy put meat in it!

Second, this isn't the place for these kinds of questions. Your question is rhetorical; there's no absolute, straightforward answer. So ask these kinds of questions elsewhere.

I founded an imaginary religion, does that count? But not out of necessity. You sound like religion is necessary. It's not necessary it's just fun.
Yes, the church people will tell you that religion is necessary, but they don't mean it; what they mean is, is that it's fun. Through religion we can pretend that the universe is human, that is a good feeling, and it is fun.

Hang around long enough, and the Bible tells us there will be a new religion.
Peace will reign; religious differences will be put to rest; terrorism will cease; unity and brotherhood will ensue.

...for 3.5 years.
(Then all he|| will break loose during the next 3.5 years, and the Great Tribulation shall commence.)
Fasten your seatbelts ladies and gentlemen, we're expecting a bumpy ride!

Why don't we try some peaceful religion like Buddhism? Never hear about atrocities committed in Asia, do you?

probably because all religions are fundamentally the same - they only serve the individual to a certain point during their spiritual development
eventually, they will have to move on to something else

how about no religion? I'm not trying to put any religion down when I say this, but why do people need to follow something? Why don't people follow their own thoughts and feelings and ideas?

All religion is just a new variety of Paganism anyway. That might be a good starting point to figure it all out. You should be able to believe anything you want to. Just keep it to yourself.
