There's some old saying out there that goes something like "The greatest lie Satan ever spread was the one that he didn't exist" Why is this such a concern? Wouldn't you be more concerned about people who go about doing whatever they feel like, with the full belief that Satan and God exist??????

It would be easier to control them. How can you resist someone you dont believe is there?

Satan resorts to many and varied designs to forward his purpose as Adversary of Jehovah God and, if possible, to turn all humans away from the rightful worship of their Creator. One of these designs is his getting people to believe that he does not even exist! This makes it possible for them to become his easy victims. Thus, today, in many religious circles it is fashionable to believe that there is no such person as Satan the Devil. For example, a poll taken by the Center for Policy Research in New York City reported that in 1974 more than half of Americans did not believe completely in the existence of a personal Devil. Even many clergymen do not believe in the Devil’s existence as a person.

Today the percentage would be 80-90% my guessing.

Here's the deal:

It is the greatest lie. Why? If Satan can convince the world that he doesn't exist, that he's a myth or a story, then it instantly means God is a myth or a story. How? Since God created Satan, who was one of God's highest angels before his fall, it means that if the source of all evil is make-believe, then the One that created him is also make-believe. So, if God isn't for real, then there's no point in worrying about sin or Hell or any of that - a complete free-for-all. Once you believe this, you have unwittingly trapped yourself in the claws of the devil.

Hope this helps. God bless.

Well, when you no longer believe he exists, then the things he is associated with (i.e. eternal damnation, hell, temptation, evil, etc) disappear. There's no heaven or hell or anything anymore, no purpose, just a bunch of people living on earth. And when you deny something's existence, or are unaware, that is when the worst things can take root and he can do his worst work.

Consider global warming. Let's say we never discovered it. Do you think that it's worse now that we know about it and can take measures to stop it, or if we never knew until it was too late?

If we never learned about cancer and how we could stop it, rather assuming it was just a bad sickness, would that be better?

If you don't know the problem, you can't stop it.

In fact, most people never consider Satan and how he wants to tear us away from God by feeding us lies. Most people don't ever consider the lies about God satan feeds us everyday, and how he takes advantage of our doubts and fears.

In 1st Peter 5:8 the Bible says "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
If people don't believe he exists, how can they be alert or resist him?

"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you" - James 4:7

If people didn't believe that Satan existed, then no one would feel the need to beware of him, and people would blame bad things that happen on God instead of on him. Satan would be free to trick people as much as he wanted, because no one would care.

Because if Satan makes people believe he doesn't exist then they believe God who says he dose was wrong then they believe that maybe this or that in the bible isn't true then before you know it you got someone who doesn't believe in God. So Satan dose it to make people doubt God because God says he exists my friends.

If Satan convinces people he doesn't exist, then people feel free to live without eternal consequences or judgement upon their choices. Essentially it's just another way for him to promote corruption and disobidence to God.

That's what I'm saying, since satan is basically god's evil twin, wouldn't he, like god, prefer those who love and serve him because they choose to? Free will, right? Isn't it more of a credit to a god of any kind for people to believe in, and emulate them, rather than doing their will blindly or in ignorance?
