well, when I got my puppy (cockapoo) he was 8 weeks old. Take him out after he wakes up, after he eats, every 30 min., and before he goes to bed. It may seem like a lot but if you give him a treat and praise him when he goes outside. He will catch on and go outside. But if he just can't find a way to tell you that he needs to go, hang a bell from the doornob and ring it with his paw before you go outside and he will also catch on with that. I also recommend getting him a cage for bedtime if you don't already have one, because if he wakes up before you do then he will wander around with a full bladder trying to find a place to relieve himself. But, if you get a cage then he will sleep until you come downstairs to let him out and he won't go in the house anymore. We did this with my puppy (now 9 months old) and we don't have anymore accidents in the house!

Your puppy isn't housetrained. I would suggest going to the library or a bookstore and finding a book that will teach you how to housetrain your dog. There's a lot of different methods, but the most important thing is lots of supervision and lots of praise when the dog "goes" outside.

There is probably nothing wrong with him. He's in a new environment and you have to be the one to take him outside all the time to ensure he's going outside instead of inside. That is the owner's responsibility during potty training.

so you've got a "poddle"? And it has a "knew" home?

(dropping hints)

All puppies use the bathroom a lot. And, they can't always control it. IT's like taking a little kid shopping in that respect -- you know that they ALWAYS will have to make a potty run in the store!

It doesn't sound like anything is wrong. Just put him/her on a feeding schedule and make sure to take him/her out often to go potty. Take them out the same door everytime; and 15-20 minutes after they eat or drink.

Puppies do go to the bathroom a lot. It sounds like your new puppy is not house-trained. Try crate-training it. You can find information on the internet on how to do this.
