Dear Rev Trask,
No, you should not be offended. You should be fearful--read Jeremiah 23. The church age ended in 1988. Check out 2 Thessalonians 2 and you will see that the Holy Spirit is no longer present in any local church or congregation! If the Holy Spirit is not there, then ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can be saved, regardless of the accuracy of the preaching. This same passage of Scripture tells us that satan is now ruling in ALL local chucrhes--He is the man of sin. As we continue to examine the Scriptures we find in Matthew 24:15, 16 that the abomination of desolation (satan) is now standing in the Holy Place (where the Gospel is supposed to be), let those in Judaea (local churches) flee to the mountain (Christ; Psalm 121).
1988 also marked the beginning of the Great Tribulation which precedes the 2nd coming of Christ-Judgment Day). Many theologians teach that this is a 7 year period but in actuality it is a 23 year period that will culminate with the end of the world (Matthew 13:24-30; John 5:28, 29). Check out Revelation 18 where God gives the command to come out of her--local churches which have become Babylon. "For many are called, but few are chosen."

Mom's opinion should be discounted a bit.
"A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country."
The folks from "back home" remember the Rev from when he was a kid, and mom? Well, mom used to change his diapers.
If it was the pastor's wife that said it, I'd be concerned.
LOL

Well, the answer is really up to you. Because whatever Mom says about their children involves lot of of emotional attachment for most moms and their children. It's better to heed the comments from all the church-goers. Then, decide how you want to feel about it.

no you should probably work harder at practising what you preach and help out those let fortunate than yourself. As a pastor if you want your church to become stronger you have to lead by example.

P.S. My answer is no. You should go to The Lord and consult with Him.

It depends did she say that to his/her face?
If she didn't how would he/she be offended?
Maybe your mom just needs to pray and read the Bible more?

No, it is better to hear "the truth" from someone who loves you unconditionally. I am assuming of course that she does love you unconditionally?
