Well, I am lucky because I happen to be very attractive and suit any hair colour and so I did an experiment.

I changed my hair colour over a period of ten years to see what men preffered best on me. I would say that in all of the colours I have ever had, red hair seems to pull the men in and not because it suits me more or anything. It got me the most attention and yet, I am naturally blonde.

Being either red or blonde does draw the men and quality men too not riff-raff. When I dyed it black or dark brown, I got the least attention and have had these colours done quite a few times. It is strange, but red is the colour that most men seem to get excited by and have no idea why and I am very very attractive and not just pretty, so it is not to do with my looks.

I always think that men like brunnettes, but whenever I was one, they never seemed as interested in me. Even around other women, the men flock to me and because I am strawberry blonde at the moment which is a mixture of red and blonde. I personally prefer to be darker even though my natural colour is so blonde and I dislike it quite a lot.

I also notice how different men are around lighter shades of hair and they do seem to act more interested in the blonde/red hair types of women and have never seen a man go nuts over a brunnette even though men do marry them. I think that the light hair colour seems to make a woman seem more child-like and young and why they attract the men. Dark hair looks exotic but it is more ageing on a woman.

I agree with the fact that men do like blondes the most, but I also think they get equally excited by red heads because when I went red, I had three times as many men hanging around me than when I was blonde and am naturally blonde, so how do I explain this?

This is a misconception. There is a book entitled Gentlemen prefer blondes but marry Brunettes. If the woman is attractive, both physically and in personality this is by far more improtan tthan the colour of her hair. Sometimes a woman may be only pleasant looking, but if she has a nice personality then this will be okay.

I'm a brunette by the way, and i've changed the opinion of guys about brunettes. Everyone likes me, being like this.

I don't hate blonds, i think they are beautiful too, but I still consider brunettes better.

People react to colours on instinct level, also, all colours have psychological influence to human mind. Light colour, such is blond hair, appears to be gentile and fragile. It is in a male nature to try to protect its better half, which is usually fragile. That is the root of this stereotype and that is why guys more often like blonds: they look like they need protection, and guys/males are, in that case, able to provide it. It is a delusion, since woman doesn't necessarily need protection, but this is deeply integrated in society.

As far as just generalized animal type attraction goes, men are physically attracted to cues from women indicative of youth and fertility. Blonde hair is more common in younger women, but tends to naturally darken as a woman ages.

i like blondes and brunettes. but when i see certain blondes it turns me on more. so to me girls with blonde hair is just sexier. but some women are just better as brunettes and can be just as sexy.
