Well, maybe. There's never a cop around when you need one and there's always some bible thumper there when you don't want to hear it.

Definitely a connection.

NO! Definitely not! In no way! The only way i can see they are alike is that they are both in some place of authority over those in LA.

God is our creator and as such has the right to authority over us. Does a clay vessel have the right to tell the potter what to do with him? NO, it is the Creator's right to do whatever He wants. The LAPD officer is a fallible man and has no authority except such as has been given by the government, which has no authority except such as has been given him by God for the restraining of evil. It is man's free choice that brings about abuse of that authority.

God created us, gave us free choice, and even sent His only son to pay the price for us when we made the wrong choice. When we sin, we sin against His very nature. We go against all that He is. Yet, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. God is a God of love. God is Holy, Good, Just, Merciful, etc. Because He is love He loves us. Because He is just, he must punish sin. If he didn't He would be evil, not just. So He took the punishment He had to give, so you (who deserved it and couldn't take it) wouldn't have to.

Even leaving That He is God out of it for a second, could you imagine a crooked cop or even a good one dying for a person who had made themselves his enemy? A good one might die for a good man, but even he would be more likely to kill an evil one than to die for him.

There is nothing of a vindictive God shown in the New Testament. Why don't you read it, and tell me what you think.

The "question" slanders and grossly distorts the bible, the Almighty, and true Christianity. Here are a few Scriptural thoughts to consider:

(Romans 16:17) Keep your eye on those who cause divisions and occasions for stumbling contrary to the teaching that you have learned, and avoid them.

(2 Corinthians 4:4-6) The god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers

(Philippians 2:14-15) In among a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you are shining as illuminators in the world

(1 Timothy 6:3-5) If any man teaches other doctrine and does not assent to healthful words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor to the teaching that accords with godly devotion, he is puffed up with pride, not understanding anything, but being mentally diseased over questionings and debates about words. From these things spring envy, strife, abusive speeches, wicked suspicions, violent disputes about trifles on the part of men corrupted in mind and despoiled of the truth

Of course not.
Then, again, there are some wolves among His sheep who would remind one very much of an LAPD cop!
I know it's tuff, but do try not to confuse God with His followers.....

I don't know, did an LAPD cop ever suffer on a cross for the sins of mankind? No? Didn't think so.

God's Purpose Soon to Be Realized
Although God has permitted imperfection and suffering for a long time from the human viewpoint, he will not allow bad conditions to go on indefinitely. The Bible tells us that God has a specific time period for allowing these things to happen.

"For everything there is an appointed time." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) When God's allotted time for permitting wickedness and suffering comes to its conclusion, then he will intervene in human affairs. He will bring an end to wickedness and suffering and will fulfill his original purpose to have the earth filled with a perfect, happy human family enjoying total peace and economic security amid Paradise conditions.
