It's NOT important. Actually, what IS important is the gradual migration AWAY from religious thought.

Everyone at sometime starts to question religion and god. the only thing i can tell you is faith is important because without it we are open for temptation from the wrong things. I personally believe in god and Jesus as the son of god, but i don't believe in organized religion, but i have faith. What i believe is important is your personal relationship with god. Keep your faith and god will do the rest. MERRY CHRISTMAS

I'm not a Christian, but I guess a person should believe in religion to keep inspiration, goodness, and to keep justice in its place. Some nonbelievers think that Moses didn't actually get the Ten Commandments from God. They believe that he just wanted people to be good and justified. He believed that without the Ten Commandments, in the A.D.'s, there would be so much crime and bad things happening. Some people beilieve that Moses and the Ten Commandments are just like Hammurabi's code(the leader said that he got the laws from the Sun God, but he actually didn't. He only said this to get the people to follow the laws).

Because it basically comes down to where do you plan to spend eternity, which is a pretty important question. This life is brief and temporary. It's a staging area for our "real" life - our eternal one yet to come.
I do not believe that people burn forever in Hell, because that's not what the Bible says. But I do believe that those who choose that way will be instantly consumed by Hellfire, which will burn itself out. They will not live forever.
The reason why we say that Christianity is the "only way" is because if we study the origins of all other religions, we will find that all except Christianity fall into one of two categories - self-worship and sun-worship, both of which are created by Satan to draw people away from worship of the God who created them.

I suggest you to do research about the theory and history of the religion. Why should you belief in something you can't see for yourself. My own opinion I don't think religion is important because everybody has their own beliefs and debates they even kill each in order to prove was real or not. Back in history many religion force people to believe. So do sciencetific research.

I don't believe in religion or a god. I perfer to believe in myself and those around me. People can only change their life by helping themselves and each other. I put my belief into the human race not in something I can't see

I suppose I could decide not to, but to me, my belief and faith is a support, letting me get through bad times, knowing that there is a reason. I choose to see God in so many ways in my life, that it seems odd ot even consider NOT beleiving in him. Part of this is my upbringing, but part is also my willingness to se good in others, and see beauty in the world around me.

Hope that helped, though I am not sure it really did. Merry Christmas.

I think it`s all about customs, and you must belive in your GOD becouse...... u know that it is the right thing.... maybe if somebody will find some evidences that GOD doesn`t exist, and he or she will prove that he/she is right it will begin an... :-? anarchy or something like that, the true belivers, who will gave their lives for GOD will not have any reason to live and the will do bad things like killing, and things like that, the human being?! must think in a huge power, in an unseen leader, who can see their facts, and bla bla bla.... so they must have a reason to be good.... bla bla bla things like that :D
