I would suggest using www.theknot.com. It is an extremely helpful site that answers just about any question you could possibly have about your wedding and gives you tons of tips and incentives too. They also have sites and recommendations for wedding planners for any state, giving the positive and negative feedback as well as price ranges, etc...and it was such a big help to me. I just got married in September and I didn't have a wedding planner myself, but looking back on everything now, I almost wish that I would have shelled out the extra money to have one! I know it's easier said than done, but just remember to breathe and try not to let the stress and everything else overwhelm you! Good luck!

You have two options:
Association of Bridal Consultants
http://www.bridalassn.com
The Knot
http://www.theknot.com
The first link is a group that certifies Wedding Consultants and in order to be a member, you have to meet certain professional standards. Consequently, anyone you find there will do a good job and not rip you off. The second site may have more listings for Wedding Consultants so that is why I put them there. I'm a wedding planner in Canada and all of my advertising is with The Knot and I wouldn't change it. The website is very extensive so even if you don't find a wedding planner you like, you will find plenty of ideas to plan your wedding.

I would recommed visiting online website such as weddinglenox.com, weddingvednors.com, and wedj. Unlike most yellow pages, they have price comparison for wedding vendors (DJ,videographer, florist, and photographer) you can choose.
One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.
The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.
