It is free, type limewire into google and ul get the official site. Limewire pro isnt free but theres not much u cnat do with the free version. Ive downloaded loads of songs and never had a virus and i run anti-virus software and run regular online checks as bck up and never had anything. I only download music and those types of mp3 files are usually v safe and compatible with the ipod! Just be sensible with movies etc that are .exe files (i.e. the same type of file a virus wud usually hide in), if the file ure goin to download looks incredibly small or incredibly large for the thing u want to download its a virus and leave it alone!
Stick to just downloading mp3's i dont know anyone whos had a prob that i know!
In my opinion all types of information and art forms such as music should be free to everyone.....i love limewire!

I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. It's a good peer to peer software if you have to download mp3, movies, videos or documents. Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://bit.ly/1lOKhMO

Limewire is a safe and reliable pogram but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are downloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.

Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.

From the above you now know how to get it for free.

JUST A QUICK TIP

Follow narct3's advice, its sound

Also when you download anything do a quick virus scan before running. right click on downloaded file and a menu will appear just click on virus scan.

Oh yer for all you do gooders out there, yes it maybe illegal to download copyright tunes etc, have you ever thought that if they didn't charge so much there would be no need for limewire.

Limewire is awesome but if you use it be careful not to download anything under 200KB (especially zip or exe files)... these are usually the viruses.

Don't do that and you will be fine.

go to download.com, select audio software from the left hand menu, select limewire it should be free, then just download it. limewire PRO costs to use.

make sure you got good security/anti virus on your pc, then you'll have no problems.

Alot of people are using a 'cracked' version which circumvents payment and is illegal as it is stealing software. Unfortunately this serves the makers of Limewire right as their software is designed to allow people to illegally share material for which they do not own the copyrights. Victim of their own success as most of the cracked versions are available through limewire. They have a trial version I believe which gives slower download speeds. Remember, software theft is illegal!
