And if so, what does God think of America?

Ezekiel 16:49
Behold this was the sin of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness... and she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

interesting verse I will check that out. While there are good people in America it's Governing bunch and the elitests who run it and wish to steal from the poor well I am sure God is not haapy withthem. We should put a limit on accumulation. A person should not be allowed to have more then they can spend making themselves comfortable and secure, because the only other use for it is to have power over others and that is sick. There should be a formula like one can not accumulate more than say 1000 times what the poorest person has. There are other incentives besides money, and those could be given to those who do good things not selfish things.

Greed?
The Ezekiel passage says the people of Sodom were full of pride, had an abundance of food, and had too much time on their hands.
Greed and envy were not part of it.
Lack of compassion and empathy for the poor and needy was part of the problem though.

As for what God may think of America? The United States is known as the most generous and giving nation in the world. No where else will you find that the combined charities and foreign aid of a foriegn country exceed that of the USA.

Sodom's sin replaced into corruption, as deciphered with the help of maximum biblical students. maximum human beings say that the sin of Sodom replaced into Sodomy, yet many human beings say that this isn't the case. The electorate of both Sodom and Gomorrah were depraved interior the eyes of the LORD...Lot replaced into spared because he rejected wickedness and did not turn decrease back at the same time as the LORD rained fireplace down on those 2 cities...His spouse, besides the indisputable fact that, grew to change right into a pillar of salt...

Exactly.

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah was a warning against rape, inhospitality and xenophobia. The reason for Sodom's destruction is made clear in Ezekiel 16:48-50. According to Ezekiel, the sins of Sodom were pride, laziness, being inhospitable, neglecting the needs of the poor, greed, and idolatry (the worshipping of idols). Nothing about homosexuality is mentioned.

The Judeo-Christian deity would probably be pissed off at a lot of places if said deity actually existed.

The sin of Sodom and Gamora was homosexuality and of course a lot of other stuff came with that too such as violence. The Bible speaks of homosexuals in another place as Sodomites referring to their behavior not their place of origin because they actually were from Israel.

sodomites occurs 4 times in 4 verses:
1Ki 14:24 And there were also sodomites in the land: [and] they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
1Ki 15:12 And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
1Ki 22:46 And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.
2Ki 23:7 And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that [were] by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

Yes, America has a lot of sin. God hates greed too. There is not a country on the planet though that does not have it's share of trouble. Thank God for his grace.

Regardless of what some "fundamentalists" will tell you, nowhere in the bible is it mentioned that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality. There is not one verse to substantiate that belief.

Ezekiel 16:49, as you have noted, indicates that the cities were destroyed for those reasons listed. If homosexuality was so high up on God's list of why to destroy them, one would think that homosexuality would have been listed here.

Revelation talks about "Sodom and Egypt." Many people believe that this is speaking of the USA because of the grievous deeds we are doing now and up until the end times.

NO - The sin of Sodom and Gamorhha. was not greed, it was false god and idol worship
false god and idol worship is apparently the worst sin against god because it means you can loose your whole city.
It is the same reason why people of Noah's time was punished. false god and idol worship
It si the same reason why Moses was made to wonder in the wilderness for 40 years false god and idol worship

contrary to popular mis-interrupted believe it is not because of homosexuality.

Sodom was a town, not a whole country. It was destroyed because of sin, but if you remember, it was detroyed because there was not even one good person there. Im pretty sure there are lots of good people in AMerica and other countries. Heck, I think there are even some good people in Las Vegas.

Why did God let Abraham question his justice and intercede for a wicked city? Abraham knew that God must punish sin, but he also knew from experience that God is merciful to sinners. God knew there were not 10 innocent people in the city, but he was merciful enough to allow Abraham to intercede. He was also merciful enough to help Lot, Abraham’s nephew, get out of Sodom before it was destroyed. God does not take pleasure in destroying the wicked, but he must punish sin. He is both just and merciful. We should be thankful that God’s mercy extends to us.
God gave the men of Sodom a fair test. He was not ignorant of the city’s wicked practices, but in his fairness and patience he gave the people of Sodom one last chance to repent. God is still waiting, giving people the opportunity to turn to him (2 Peter 3:9). Those who are wise will turn to him before his patience wears out.

Gen 18: 20 So the LORD told Abraham, “I have heard that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah are extremely evil, and that everything they do is wicked. 21 I am going down to see whether or not these reports are true. Then I will know.”

Gen 19:1 That evening the two angels came to the entrance of the city of Sodom, and Lot was sitting there as they arrived. When he saw them, he stood up to meet them. Then he welcomed them and bowed low to the ground. 2 “My lords,” he said, “come to my home to wash your feet, and be my guests for the night. You may then get up in the morning as early as you like and be on your way again.”
“Oh no,” they said, “we’ll just spend the night out here in the city square.”
3 But Lot insisted, so at last they went home with him. He set a great feast before them, complete with fresh bread made without yeast. After the meal, 4 as they were preparing to retire for the night, all the men of Sodom, young and old, came from all over the city and surrounded the house. 5 They shouted to Lot, “Where are the men who came to spend the night with you? Bring them out so we can have sex with them.”
