My nails are long and look nice except for the fact that they have a yellow tinge to them. What can I do for this?

Don't smoke and don't use nail polish--even clear. You can also buff them.

I am not for sure, but I have read in a magazine to soak your nails in lemon juice to take the yellow away. If the yellow is from wearing polish for long periods of time.

Soak your nails for about 10 minutes in a bowl of water with a few drops of olive oil & lemon juice. For yellow nails, try to put lots of lemon juice in it but not too much! Or u can also just dilute lemon juice with a little bit of water (to reduce the acid)& rub it onto your nail & wash off!!

OR

The EASIEST & the BEST way is to use whitening tootpaste!!! Take a bit of it & rub it over your nails and then wash off!! EASY!

GOOD LUCK!!

using a nailpolish remover often can cause yellowness to nails, so avoid frequent use of it. Rub lemon on the nails, its helps to whiten them and again, like the others suggest, avoid smoking if you do so. eating food with combination spices using hand also causes the yellowness due to the spices so try and avoid that too.

If it's the result from polish your nails for a long time, then just stop for a while, they will turn back to natural color on their own.

Do you smoke?

Do you cook with spices? Chili, haldi (turmeric), saffron?

There are clear nailpolishes with a slightly purplish tint...they are used to keep your nails from "looking yellow", although I am not sure if they really take the yellow away....

Clean them with a nail brush. That's what I used to do.
