Not that bad. Women have babies they can easily take the pain of a tattoo.

I have a floral belt tattoo that goes all the way around my waist. I will say that the lower stomach portion was the most painful, but I was getting drilled for 4 hours at a time, and yours probably won't take that long. Go for it!

I also want to add that I have had 4 children, the tat went through the last 3. It still looks awesome! But I didn't get any stretch marks on my stomach either so, I'm sure that makes a big difference too. Anyway, good luck!

All tats come with pain, but the way I deal with the pain is I just remember that there's a pay off! When the pain is gone, you'll have your awesome tat! As for that area, I can't imagine it would be that bad. I'm a girl and I have a very low tolerance for pain, believe me, but I can deal with the pain of getting a tat with no problem. I just got one done on the back of my next and that's suppose to be one of the most painful, sensitive areas to get a tat since it like pretty much on your spine, and I could deal with the pain. Don't get me wrong, it hurt, but I mean it's sooo worth it! Tattoos rock! So I'd say go for it! You'll be glad you did! And that area your talking about is so hot and sexy to get a tattoo on:) Good Luck!!

The way I look at it is it depends on the place of the tattoo and the person. There will be a certain amount of pain, that is a given. As others have said it also depends on the size of the tattoo.

The best I can suggest is keep talking to people. The experience of others can be a good guide.

If you really want a tattoo, DO NOT get flash art off of the wall. Make it something personal, either something that represents you now or means something special. That way your skin tells a story about who you are or where you've been, and you're less likely to regret it later.

Bottom line is that tats hurt. Not "broken-arm-hurt", mind you, more like "road rash" hurt done over an extended period of time. It's tolerable, and after 5-10 minutes your endorphins kick in and the pain dulls significantly. Everyone has "special" places in their skin that just hurt more, and it differs from person to person.

Just take care of it, clean it TWICE a day with antibacterial soap, and IMMEDIATELY put a bandage with A&E ointment on it every time. The key is to NEVER let it scab. It takes about a week, then your skin flakes off and it looks ugly as hell.

But keep it moist, either with good lotion or more A&E, and the lines will stay clean and look good for a lifetime.

I have a tattoo in the exact spot, and I have one on my back going up and down my spine. The back was 3 times the pain for the stomach. Its definitley not one of the most painful spots to get one. Its uncomforatable, but nothing you cant handle if you have a high tolerance.

I have lots of tattoos. It will hurt a little but it wont be unbearable. Its really not that bad. I had a large dragon put on my ankle and it was very painful, i had to break a few times. That was right on the bone. Ive also got them on the fleshy parts and they werent near as bad. You should be fine, good luck.
