Everytime I write something that doesn't reach all the way across the page to the very right I and I press the "Enter" key to start a new paragraph, it make the line of words before spaced out a lot so that it DOES reach all the way across.
Like if i wrote the two words.
No man.
It would make it go like:
No man.
With a huge space in between the two words.
And I would always have to go back and change it.
It's really annoying. Does anyone know how to change it so it doesn't do this automatically?

In Word: Your paragraph setting is set to “Justified” which is the reason the text spacing changes.

Highlight the text you are having problems with (or the entire document)

Click on "Format" menu item

Click on Paragraph

On the "Indents and Spacing" tab click on "Alignment"

Change the Alignment setting from “Justified” to "Left".

Click "OK"

You're done.

Good Luck

Actually, I think the problem is likely under Tools-->Options, Compatibility tab. By default, if you're truly hitting Enter (and not Shift+Enter), the line should NOT justify all the way across, even if full justification is turned on (which is what others are suggesting to you is the problem). So I think you've got one of the compatibility options that DOES cause this behavior turned on. From the dropdown in the compatibility tab, choose Microsoft Word 200X (whichever one applies to your version) and hit OK.

Hmm by the sound of it you must have the alignment on justify, On the formating toolbar, chose the left align option, it's the lil icon with the lines aligned to the left side like this...

blah blah blah
blah blah
blah
blah blah

right align looks like this...

blah blah blah
blah blah
blah
blah blah

center align has the text placed in the center of the document

............blah.............
.........blah blah..................
.......blah blah blah.................

justify looks like this...

blah blah blah
blah blah blah
blah blah blah
blah blah blah
