I know the person writing this so I'll try to make the message a bit personal and also universal. As u can see by the previous answers, spanish, just like English and almost every other language has many ways to use words to express a thought. U may get many different answers as there is no "frozen" or absolutely "right" way.

First of all, when speaking to others, it's not "el dia" and blah, blah. It's un dia. At least u knew of the language exception rules (that just because a word ends in an "a" it's femine) - just like el agua and many others.

As an add-on thought - despite the article being masculine (el agua), any adjectives that follow are femine. Thus we get things like el agua esta fria (the water is cold).

Sooo - as a spanish teacher and having lived in Mexico for 12 years, I can offer the following ways to say this -

Hoy es un dia muy bonita. This is the simplest and clearest way

Hoy es un buen dia (this is a good day). This is OK but it talks about something else. Today is a good day. For what reason? Nobody will be exactly sure why u might say that.

One of the things that Mexicans like to say is that the sky (cielo) is clean. It means that the sky is clear and it's a beautiful day. So say something like this. "Hoy es un dia bonita. El cielo esta limpio." Say that and they will get what u mean.

Another resource overlooked is the BabbleFish website that can translate for you. They used to have a simple website that would easily let u do a translantion but now they changed all that and made it soooo complicated. Here's the link that should take u directly to the translator. Use it to ask questions like this and u won't have to use yahoo anymore.

But be careful. It can make mistakes the same as any mechanised translators do. But it can be a great leaning tool for simple words or learning gengers. Ask it to translate "a day" and see what happens. Is it el dia or una dia? It reports back that it's un dia. That's correct. But don't throw any long piece of spanish at it. It'll surely get at least some of it wrong.

There's only one way to learn spanish. That's called hard work.

Que bonito esta el día hoy-It is a nice day today.

Que lindo día-What a beautiful day.

Esta bonito hoy afuera or Hoy esta bonito afuera-It is nice out today

HOY EL DÍA ES BONITO: TODAY THE DAY IS PRETTY!.....good but not what I would say.
