I'm a nurse. Because they are able to relate the new information with something they already know. With this said they learn new info and retain it for further use. It also depends on their understanding of information. There's so many examples on this particular subject. I feel too that they get more involved with the info. That way they learn it more effectively than the average person. Some other reasons remain a mystery to us. Good question.

i am not a genius, but i do have a great memory. I have a photographic memory with numbers, I think some things are just easier for some people to remember. i am also great with names and faces whereas my husband is not, but when iut comes to building something i would call hima genius in that department different peole have different strengths. alot of classified geniuses are retarded emotionally or socially. does this make any sense? and by the way, i am one of the nicest people on the face of the earth, and I am pretty book smart. not a genius the other person who thinks geniuses are mean doesn't realixze they have problenms socially. it isn't iuntentional, they just don't know how to socialize. no one should be so judgemental and condemning. always try to see the world through someone elses eyes

what makes you think geniuses have good memories? Alexander the Great, truly a genius if you figure conquering the known world before he was 30 is a genius said "I may not know the answer but I know where to find it" or was that Churchill...
And Einstein, also a 'genius' never could keep track of his clothes or anything else, for t hat matter, so I have heard. His wife did all that.
Geniuses aren't people who can remember, they're people who can figure out what to do next!
That's why people who get all 'A's in school usually wind up working for those who got 'B's. School measures memory, usually, not the ability to 'figure it out'.
Anyway, now I've forgotten what I was going to say, so I've definitally got to get off here and on to the next question!

They don't necessarily have unusually good memories, but what they are unusually good at is looking at problems a different way, seeing insights into problems that others miss, and generally connecting the dots, sometimes quicker than others, sometimes in an unexpected or creative way.

Anyone can have a good memory if you work at it. Do crossword puzzles, sudoku, read books, play memory games. Exercise your mind and study more than the TV or gossip magazines and your memory will improve.
