I recently started a "street cat rescue project" with website aimed at getting some kitties that lived on the street near my place into homes. It has live streaming video of the kitties 24 hours a day. When I first started, I thought I'd be sending most kitties straight to new homes, where they would then be given names so I only gave them temporary names while they were living on the street. As it turned out, most don't have homes yet, and the one I named Sami is now living with me, but problem is I already have a Sami so I need a new name for her....there is also a cat called Fluffy that needs a better name for obvious reasons! The site is http://www.kittiesinthehood.com and you will see Sami's pic on the front page....best pic of "Fluffy" is on the "kittiesneedanewhood" link. Please help me give these kitties great names ...it may make them more attractive to adopters.
I already adopted 8 myself, and really need help with the other 12!
Any ideas?
Thanks

I had to reply though I don't know how much help I will be...I have more than 4 cats and I have to tell you that even though I thought I had come up with some pretty decent names I always end up calling them something else. A kitten is hard to name because until you can see a personality developing the original chosen name usually doesn't stick or later seems just so wrong. If you are finding homes for these babies don't worry about naming them. Let the families name them. You may want to include some personality insight when you list them on the internet...ie: This black kitten with white boots is spunky yet well behaved for such a little one. Please help her find a home....yada, yada, yada.

I have a female Blue Point Seal Siamese (little *****) and her name is Jasmine. I have allowed her to keep her claws because she will stay in the yard and will keep other cats and Dogs out. She cannot be held successfully, and spits up a storm when you attempt this, But we keep her because she does a wonderful job keeping undesirables away from our home. So in an attempt at Irony we named her after something that makes you think of something pleasant as the smell of Jasmine.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time finding them homes -- and I'm even sorrier that I can't take one of them. I wish I could. Some fun names might be Hissy, Spits, Baby, Smulan (common Swedish cat name meaning 'a little crumb,') CeCe, Fuzzie, Mimi, Shooshoo, Punktchen (common German cat name meaning 'a little point' or 'a little dot,') Gatito, Minou (pronounced mee-noo, French for the 'kitty' part of 'here, kitty kitty,') Bitsy, Slinky, Dha Kheety, Princess, CutiePie.
