I use public transport to get to work, and only fill the kettle with enough water for as many teas as I'm making. What other things can people do to make a difference?

I hold aerosol spray cans out the window... sometimes two at a time, and spray them right up at the sky.

I'm expending all my energy combating Global Warming alarmists. I'm a firm believer in being ecologically minded and in developing non-fossil fuel forms of energy, but not because I think we can "combat global warming". We need to preserve the quality and quantity of our natural resources, including air and water, but to think that we can somehow reverse this naturally occurring process is ludicrous. People have GOT to stop hitting the mental brakes when someone says the ice is going to melt and Florida is going to be under water. Everyone needs to keep an open mind and look at ALL the research and who's doing it and for what purposes. Believe it or not, there are some who really will say anything for money. The Global Warming debacle is a good example.

To make any difference at all, we need to live like in the middle ages. We should stop using planes, stop using cars, not use electricity, stop making and using chemicals and stop consuming. We should reuse rather than recycle! We cannot have an economy of growth if we're serious about combating global warming. It's a huge thing that touches so many systems that it's difficult to understand. One thing people don't seem to understand is the snow ball effect. Once you've pushed that snow ball down the hill, you can't stop it, it gets bigger and it gathers speed....the fact is it's too late because to make any difference we would need to have everyone in the world on board and it would mean that each and everyone of us would have to make huge sacrifices in our lives.

I'm promoting solar power. It is not the answer to all energy needs, but it can certainly help. What has held back solar so far has been the high cost of the panels. But I know of a company that will rent the panels to a homeowner with no upfront investment. I think this idea could make solar easily available to about 50% of the homes in the US. If you want more info about this company email me: bullshoalsblues@yahoo.com

Finding a way to reverse the problem. By this I mean developing the technology for a low energy capture and storage method for stripping carbon from the atmosphere. The technology I am seeking will strip billions of tons of carbon from the atmosphere and reverse climate change. It has taken years but I and others believe we are close to a solution.

Walking to work, switching off computers and tvs at the plug, trying to reduce how much I drive about, recycling....whatever I can think of at the time.
I know that it's the policies and actions of U.S.A., China and India that will have the major impact but I don't think that's an excuse for doing nothing. Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.

I bought compact fluorescent light bulbs.
In the wintertime, I use electric space heaters to heat my apartment instead of natural gas. (Huge money savings)
In general, I heat less and wear hoodies more.
I eat less meat.
I re-use things instead of just throwing them away.
I fix things instead of buying new.
I can pretty much shut down my entire apartment (except for the fridge) when I'm not home, or when asleep (saves money on electric)
