Its politically correct to say winter holiday.
Remember last year everything was marked correctly as winter trees and winter cookies.
I find it offensive that you label everything with christmas because christmas is a religious word for christ!!!
We must have separation of church and state.
Its not fair that we all celebrate the god of christianity.
All I want to hear this xmas is:
MERRY WINTER DAY
LETS BUY SOME WINTER CLOTHES.
I NEED TO BUY SOME WINTER COOKIES.
WALMART IS SELLING WINTER CANES.
GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS CHRISTIANS!!!
WINTER!!!
WINTER!!!
WINTER!!!

You bloody liberals have already gotten your way, and it is called Happy Holidays, and Season`s Greetings, what more do you want?

Are you back on here again ? Happy Winter Solstice. Means Merry Christmas. Same meaning and being we all live the the good old United States of America, we can still partake in the Freedom of Speech. Your photo shows severe signs of distress. You are swimming against the current. So just lie on your back and float downstream. Float with the current. You will not be so distressed. If you say Happy Winter Solstiice, I would say Thank you. Now that I know what it means. But you do not have to stop me from anything. We are FREE !!

Umm....no. Freedom of religion means you have the right to celebrate whichever holiday you choose whether it's Hannukah, Christmas, Solstice, Kwanzaa, or nothing at all. It does not mean that people have the right to oppress ideas that they don't themselves believe. We do not "all celebrate the god of christianity." We all celebrate as our personal traditions dictate without worrying about what others do. You are to easily offended. And the products sold at Wal-mart have nothing to do with the state, that's a company, not a government institution.
It is winter clothing, not Christmas clothing. Christmas tree, angel and stocking shaped cookies are Christmas cookies. Little Stars of David and menorahs are Hannukah cookies. If you want to make little sun-wheels, you'll have Solstice cookies. And it's always been candy canes or peppermint canes, not Christmas canes.
Also, for those of you who think this country was founded on Christianity--Thomas Jefferson was a deist, and Ben Franklin was a Unitarian (as were several other founding fathers). Neither of which are Christian religions. Get your facts straight.

Yes well everyone has their own opinion , however it has been Christmas for hundreds of years. Why fix it if it ain't broke? Why can you simply not say season's greetings to people instead of merry Christmas and let it ride. Much like prayer..you do not have to take part in it but what does it hurt to stand there with your mouth shut for 2 minutes out of respect for someone else's rights that you seem to wish to trample. No one said you have to put up a Christmas tree, have a Christmas party or get a Christmas bonus and a paid Christmas holiday if you do not wish to celebrate it. But I guarantee when your boss hands out the Christmas bonuses you don't complain about it then or when you get to have an extra day at home with your family. So, get over yourself and learn to deal.

well... it could be acceptable since Christmas is truly a religion label.
However, why WINTER?? I mean, I'm not in the states and I also celebrate Christmas... and here it's freaking summer !!!!

Perhaps we must think another label, Holiday Seasons it's an accurate term for this I think.

I do hope folks realize this guy is no real liberal, since there are liberal Christians, a fact he seems unaware of.

It's really interesting that Capt's says "Its not fair that we all celebrate the god of Christianity.
All I want to hear this xmas is:
MERRY WINTER DAY"

So what we get is, "I don't want your views, you better use mine!" Sorry Cap, that is not a true liberal attitude. More of a what O'Riley or Limbaugh think is a liberal attitude.

Since when is it a violation of church and state to pick up Christmas Cookies at Krogers?

Also, you will not find the words Separation of Church and State anywhere in the Constitution. I make sure to read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence at least once a year to remind myself of exactly what it means to be an American. I highly recommend the practice to everyone.

its hilarious.

some people really think this,

Christmas is a religious holiday.

to treat it like its not, is (or should be) offensive to christians, (de-holy-ing it) and offensive to other religions(mixing their holiday(s) with christmas indiscriminately)

if you don't celebrate CHRISTMAS then don't celebrate it.

Christians! stand up for your religion! de-religious-ifying christmas is NOT a motive that the jews or other non-christian religious people have. Jews are NOT generally offended by being told "merry christmas" by a stranger that has no reason to know they don't celebrate it. (its well intended, and unless theres some OBVIOUS way for them to know the person is jewish, why would it be offensive?) it is *NOT* helping yourself, or other religions, to allow Christmas to have the religion scooped out of it.

We don't rename it winter holiday because some of us go to Mass on the 25th of December to celebrate Christ! Get it, Christ's Mass? Some of us still are thankful that God was Incarnated into flesh to give us the second person of the Trinity....Jesus.

Well WINTER blessings to you. I hope that old man winter is good to you. As for me and my household it is CHRISTmas. Its called a free country, something you non-believers are forgetting. You are guilty of what you are blaming us for doing, pushing your beliefs that Winter is something to celebrate. While your freezing your old butt of this Winter. We worship the guy who made Winter.

Because CHRISTmas is the celebration of Christ. If you don't want to celebrate you don't have to. Are you going to rename Hanukkah too? You better move to your own little island and take all of your friends with you if you don't want to hear it. You have a MERRY CHRISTMAS now!!
