Alright, here's the deal: I believe in God and I've accepted Christ as my savior.
Here's my logic:
1.) The Bible is always accurate, both historically, scientifically, and prophetically. Not only that, but even though it was written over thousands of years (and that can be proven), it never contradicts itself. Plus, although there have been many attempts to annihilate the Bible, it has perservered throughout the ages. Today, it is the most popular book in the world.
2.) The Bible is obviously correct, and it states (with logical explanations) the existence of God to be fact.
3.) God exists.
There are other reasons as well: evolution is an extremely unstable theory- not the waterproof fact they would have you believe. All of nature points to a God- there's no way all of this could just happen. Somebody said that even scientists, with all their knowledge and resources, cannot copy even the smallest of organisms- how can you expect this to happen by itself? This all points to God.

Here's another thought: man is so obviously inferior, that if "survival of the fittest," a prime factor in evolution, was true, we'd have been wiped out years ago. Picture a man walking around with his wooden club. Now he comes up to a saber-toothed cat. Who's going to walk away unharmed? They weren't always in groups- you think they're going to depict a humilating death on a cave wall? Humans are so ridiculously weak that only divine intervention could ensure our survival.
One last thing: when people accept Christ as their Savior, they really are changed. People who have lived awful lives doing unmentionable things can be turned around by the awesome saving grace of Jesus. Just ask the people who know them.
And speaking of belief, that's what it all boils down to. You will never have your eyes opened to the truth of the Bible until you believe that it is true. Then it will all fall into place in front of you. God grants wisdom to those who truly desire it and who trust Him.

I believe in Deity, but probably not in "god" as most believers on this list do. I believe that there is a Supreme Force that lives both within all of creation and outside of creation that directs the forces of nature and spirit that we, as humans, can only comprehend in a very, very limited manner. This force created and continues to create the known and unknown universes and since it is Creator, every thing has this divine spark, whether it be a rock or an amoeba, or a plant or a person...therefore everything is holy and everything is worthy of respect. I have felt the presence of this Being in my life, so I know that It is real. But the actual Entity is far beyond my true comprehension, that I know I can feel and see and touch only the smallest part of the Whole. All Gods Are One, is a druidic creed which I firmly believe, each of us understands a small part of that Whole, but we are all part of that Whole so no one is wrong! Even those who don't believe in a supreme being are not wrong, they simply have a different perception.

The believers have not proven any god exists. If people believe despite an utter absence of evidence, that's their prerogative, but as for me, I'll stick with my non-belief until the believers provide proof.
Why is it their responsibility? Because those who put forward a positive assertion have the burden of proof resting squarely upon their shoulders. That's how it works philosophically and scientifically. Claiming "God exists" is something one has to back up with proof. Those who do not accept this claim on faith are NOT in the wrong... in fact, they stand on solid philosophical ground. Skepticism is the default stance when any unfounded claim is put forth for consideration.
Therefore, as the believers have yet to live up to their burden, I am absolutely justified in maintaining my disbelief until such time that their claims can be demonstrated to be true.

I don't believe in the Christian God because I don't believe an all good all powerful god would allow needless suffering in the world.
The freewill defense seems week because he could stop really bad things to help us. It seems a little scary that god would allow innocent people to suffer because of a few bad, like the Holocaust.
And the development of character theory also seems week because we don't need nearly as much suffering as we have to develop our characters.
Why doesn't God stop things like Hurricane Katrina, or the huge Tsunami in the East, or the Holocaust, or children dying of cancer?
That's why I don't believe in the Christian god, because it just doesn't seem like an all good all powerful god would allow those horribly evil things to happen.
The Christian god interacts with people and has been shown to interact with events in the bible, so why would he stop now? It would seem he had changed and completely stepped back, and in that case it would seem he's no longer the same God that's described in the bible.

im sorry to be the one to break it to you guys but god is a load of ****. catholisism is riddled with condradiction, if there is a god **** him in the *** for all the bad **** that has come from religion just to give others incapable of accepting death as their concious end. why dont you see another moses parting the sea or floods to wipe out all the evil on the planet. why doesnt the bible mention prehistoric life and its role in "gods plan". maybe because they didnt discover the exsistance of it until recently. if evoulution isn't the truth, then how do you explain fossilized "cavemen". how do you justify the crusades. the knights of templar. human sacrafice, sexual abuse on children by people sworn to protect and guide servents of god. racism. murder. telavangalists. all in the name of god. how can you explain the gradual decline in considering sin and other hellworthy tresspasses. is this the poison you feed your kids!? if you cant see proof of evolution in our world today, then you are just too close minded to ever know. dont bother praying for my soul, because if im too "good" in my life, i may end up with all the "****** hating" KKK members (excuse my language, not my intention to offend african americans), merciless killers deploying genocide on hundreds of thousands by releasing plagues and disease on women and children thought to be barbarians (it was called the crusades you ******* idiot), elderly pastors touching children inappropriatly behind the closed chamber doors far from judgement and your sorry *** in eternal paradise. if thats the future of a god fearing christian then i will see you in hell.

I don't believe int the Christian God in the sense that Christians put it.
I believe in personal responsibility, and not because "the devil made me do it"]
I don't believe in God because I think that man made it up in order to gain control over the followers, to gain power, and money.

I believe, logically speaking, probably because LIFE (DNA) is way too complex to develop without an intelligent designer> not even scientiest with all their intelligence and technology can create life in the lab, then how can you expect "nature" to create life through "natural selection" and what not>

I believe only in the natural, no-absolutely NO supernatural. Gods, fairies, spooks, angels, the tooth fairy, etc are all beyond the natural, they're supernatural. Therefore it's all stupid superstition.

By reality. Who made it? And if someone made it, why aren't we following him? We human bend a knee to anyone who excels in their particular discipline. But not God, who excels period.
