You're one of those guys with a "1%" tattooed on your shoulder, right?
Meaning you're among the 1% who are enlightened and see things as they really are and are most definitely not among the unenlightened masses. How very nice for you.

Terrorism is a terrible thing but it has been going on since the beginning of time. I think at some point in time all countries have participated in some form of terrorism. I think it's been used the past 6-7 years as a means to rule by fear. Terrorism has changed though over the years, with 24/7 news every event that happens is instantly broadcast. You are correct, far more people die in car accidents and most definitely disease. We have a strong military it could be better utilized on American soil to defend against terrorists instead of spread out all over the world.

There's not much we can do about car accidents and disease. They will always be around, but we are still doing our best to fight them every day. Just like we are trying to prevent murder from happening. We can fight all these things at once. The Government tries to prevent people from being homeless but they can only do so much. If you drop out of school and end up homeless, what are we supposed to do? You cant blame the government for your failures. If are talking about Darfur, there are NATO peace keepers there now. We are trying. Terrorist are killing innocent people out of hate. That is not nearly the same and you know it. If America ever kills innocent people it is not on purpose or out of hate like terrorist.

Its used as a very effective rabble rousing technique on both sides - but as a strategic attack on a country - barring nuclear weapons its little more than an irritant with minimal impact except maybe on the psyche of the attacked. Many countries have withstood many years of terrorist attacks with minimal impact. This should not in any sense take away from the pain of the specific individuals killed or maimed, that is appalling but as a powerful nation we have to accept that terrorism is part of the job when your job is the sole superpower. Cry Accept it fight back move on

Terrorism doesn't have a primary purpose of killing people. Terrorism is all about fear, insecurity and political disruption.
Terrorists want us to feel so scared; we'll consider almost anything just to return to feeling safe and secure.
This is why Bush & Blair are helping terrorists. Instead of standing up and being firm, they go on TV and scare the population by saying we're in danger and about to be attacked.
They should keep every freedom and liberty, just to defy the terrorists. But instead they remove freedoms in response to those that hate our freedom.
Blair shouldn't go on TV and say Al Qaeda are powerful, dangerous and can attack at will. They should give terrorists no publicity and shouldn't heap praise on their power to hurt us.
In summary - terrorism isn't as bad as we think. But our leaders are making it much worse and giving an ego boost to terrorists.

I agree - i think terrorism is MASSIVELY overarted. I did a project highlighting the fact.
If you look at USA death statistics fot 2001 youll see what I mean. 11000 people died by getting shot - thats almost 3 9/11s. 50 people died in the 77 bombings, and 10 360 people die a year on the motorways just from drink driving.
Terrprism is horrible, do not get me wrong - and i mourned the deaths just like evryone else, but I believe that the govs job is to maintain as much human life as possible, and focusing on terror is not the answer

Why would Britain feed Africa? Take it your to young to have heard of the IRA and all the Brit soldiers who died there? Criminals in Britain may have killed more innocent people, not the general British public. If your homeless, the Council re homes you! Terrorism is awful. Thankfully we have a vast lot of resources to prevent it happening. 90% of stopped instances are never reported because of "D" notices. Go live in Beirut and experience terrorism 1st hand. Talk to the 1000,s of maimed people. Hey we are in E.U if your unhappy living in this country go to another one. GRIEF!!!

It's not that it is so bad it is the uncertainty. Yes you are far more likely to die in a thousand other ways but they just don't carry the same physiological effect as dying by terrorism. The thought of masses of people going about their daily lives and then having them snuffed out really gets to some people. Tidal waves and earthquakes kill many more people under just those circumstances but an act of god just doesn't seem as frightening as some individual or group pulling off an attack and politicians are not above exploiting that fear

Did you stop and think before you asked the question? What is good about terrorism? How can killing innocent people have a good side? All governments make mistakes, all governments don't do things that they ought to but how can you doubt how bad terrorism is?

Well, terrorisim is exciting and it keeps people watching! People don't want to hear how that engineering division built a school for Iraqi kids, or how terrorist plans were thwarted by intelligent and resourceful soldiers. No, terrorism isn't as bad as we think it is, because it isn't happening in our backyards.
