Karma is nearly impossible to accept without first accepting the fact that we didn't begin at conception and don't end at death.
All the things that happen to us, we created for ourselves. . .both pleasant and unpleasant.
Just because we don't remember when we sent out the invitations doesn't mean we didn't invite these "guests".

What you do does come back to you, either in this life or another...but not usually in ways we can say "Oh, this happened because I did .....(fill in the blank). But if you put positive energy out there, positive things will happen and if you put negative energy out there, negative things will happen. And people don't always get their "karma" in this life, so that is why it seems some people can get away with so much and nothing ever happens, and there are other people who seem to be good but bad happens to them, and this, I believe, is their karma from a previous life happening in this life.

yes, Karma definitely exists.
but you have to understand that this "cycle" is generally NOT limited to this life, both wrong and right.
but lemme put it this way... I think I would rather get the "heat" for wrongdoings in this life, while in this life.
I have pity for the people who are just horrible people, yet never get it back in this life, and die in a peaceful way. ... their gonna have it rough later on.
>>"Some people mistake it as some sort of mystical 'payback' scheme. This is very wrong. There is no outside force acting on anybodies karma. "<<
this is an amusing thing to read. what it appears as you mean, is incorrect.
but what your saying, in a sense, on a grand scheme.. is correct. very interesting knot of meaning.

Karma is a natural law of mental action. Like Newtons third law, but on a cognitive level.
All mental actions have preceding actions. Your current mental actions will cause future mental actions.
That's karma.
Some people mistake it as some sort of mystical 'payback' scheme. This is very wrong. There is no outside force acting on anybodies karma.

No I dont believe that. If life was fair it would be a lot more fun being a good person and a lot worse being a criminal. Life aint fair, some people do lots of good things and never get anything back, others profit from causing pain and suffering.

No, that is only one view of karma. Through meditation I have come to believe in reincarnation. I believe what we do in this life effects who we will be in the next life, but we control our actions in this life.

I believe to an extent what we sow we harvest, as said an ancient philosopher. But Carma, I can't say things I have done have come back to bite me enough to notice or remember. Maybe I am simply too cheeky or a great enough prat to notice!

Of course what you put out will come back to you. If not in this life then certainly in the next. x
