I experimented with a vegetarian butternut squash and nut roast Sunday dinner this year at Wetherspoons, and I quite liked it; the veggie gravy tasted better, too.
I have been tempted to ask my boyfriend's mum to provide a vegetarian alternative, as I don't like turkey (I've had bad experiences with undercooked and overcooked birds and joints), but since I would be the only one (his sister-in-law is a vegetarian, but is at work over Christmas) I didn't bother. Though I definitely would prefer a vegetarian alternative.

I eat so much meat I think I descended from some carnivorous monster from the pleistocene - I dont like any meal without meat. A vegetarian restaurant is something I can imagine existing in hell. It would have a little TV with golf on.
Turkey is fine but sausages with bacon wrapped around are essentials, too.
