Traditions are never original.

Proof:

An event occurs. Then, we either repeat it or forget it.

If we deliberately repeat it very many times very many times it becomes known as a tradition.

example:

One night my wife was sick. I tucked her in, patted her on the backside, and said, "I love you, doll."

After she was well, she said "What about our tradition?"

I asked, "Tradition?".

She explained the the tucking and patting and the "I love you, doll."

This is now 5 years later: We still do that tradition every night, even at the end of a day of arguments.

It, that tradition , helps remind us of why we decided to share our lives together.

A lot of traditions stem from a sharing event.

All traditions are created by humans. I participate in the ones that seem meaningful to me. Then I make up some for myself.

So I have New Year's, Asian New Year, Mardi Gras, Spring equinox, Buddha's Birthday, monthly moon viewings, Summer Solstice, July 4th, Family birthdays, wedding anniversaries, Autumnal Equinox, Thanksgiving, Buddha's Day of Enlightenment, Winter Solstice and Christmas to make my family happy.

I am with the man-made tradition of letting a jolly old man with a magical sleigh put presents under a christmas tree and eat your milk and cookies. Oh, and don't leave the fire on this time, okay?

You don't have to BELIEVE in tradition...either you practice it or you don't...it has nothing to do with beliefs. Like our family has the tradition of opening our Xmas gifts at midnight on Christmas eve...what do we need to believe in because we do that?

All traditions are man (or woman) made. What are you really asking?

In Isaiah it says" "Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth." That was God speaking, and on another occasion he called humans perverts or something like that.

I myself am okay with human made tradition, what other kind is there? I can take it or leave it, why do you ask?

Everybody does, as man made traditions are not necessarily evil or wrong.:
people wear wedding rings, go to church on wednesdays, celebrate birthdays, etc.

Next on the list is HALLOWEEN!

Other then those I really don't care all that much.
I don't need a special day of the year to treat my girlfriend nice. I'm not a once a year kind of guy! Hell I'm not a once a week kind of guy! Once a day perhaps, I still need to work!!!
