Firstly - you want to serve and protect your community and are dedicated to justice and protection.
Secondly - you have a high degree of morality and strong support system which will enable you to succeed in your job.
You are able to deal well with stress and highly charged situations with a cool head, and open mind.
You are not discriminatory and look behind appearances to discern the truth at all costs.
You are a role model in your community and want to take on the responsibility for public law enforcement.
Hope this helps. Is this for an essay?

Having the desire to help people, the fact that there's always something going on and it's a different job every day, and just wanting to catch the bad guys and make your neighborhood a better place for everyone. Just tell them the truth, stop and think why you really want to do this.

1) Because you want to work holidays, weekends, kids birthdays, overnights, and insane amounts of overtime for little pay.
2) Because you like having everyone groan "Crap the cops are here!" even they THEY called you!
3) Because you want to be able to legally speed and play a grown up more dealier version of cops and robbers.
4) Because you get to retire after 25 years with full pension making 80% of your pay!.....it makes taking that Wal-Mart greeter postion so much more satisfying.
5) Because it sure beats workin at McDonalds!
Just don't answer "Because I want to give back to the community." EVERYONE says that! Be original! Use one of my answers!

* you want to serve in public service...helping people... investing in community.... making a difference
personal note: consider the sacrifices law enforcement requires.... rotating shifts, average pay, hazardous duty, multiple strains on emotions and family.

Tell them that the pay is low, the risk to your life is high, everybody hates you until they need you, but there is just something inside that makes you want to better your community.

1. you want to serve the people.
2. You want to serve the country.
Why do you want to be a cop. I know why I want to be one, but you obviously don't.
