I feel the same way when people in their cars play their music so loud that it goes everywhere.
only I get it all year long.

Hmmm...30 pts. and been on YA for 6 days. You're either someone else trying to be a rabble-rouser under an alter-ego. Or you're completely lost as to how to ask a serious Q. and get a serious A.
(I'd vote for the rabble-rouser in disguise theory).
As to your pseudo-question, anyone with common sense knows that cultural norms are never unanimously approved. The majority of any community determine how all of the community lives and interacts. It's true for evolving standards like smoking in public. And it's true for established standards like celebrating Christmas.
A minority cannot override the wishes of the majority just because they claim that they're "offended"... especially when you have the opportunity to tune out that which offends you.
By the way, if it's the loudness of the music that bothers you, you should complain to your neighbor, or your landlord or the police (in that order).
But again, as I said earlier I doubt that any of what you wrote is true. I think you're just trying to be provocative. Too bad you ended up being more juvenile than anything else.
Now go have a Merry CHRISTmas!

I am a Christian and love Jesus and love Christmas. But I agree that anybody playing music extremely loud shoud turn it down so not to disturb their neighbors. True, not evryone wants to hear everybody else's music. So we must show mutual respect and kindness. But I must say that if Christmas carols and Christian music bother you everywhere you go at this special time of the year your only hope may be to take a vacation to a nation where Christmas is NOT celebrated and come back to USA after December 25! Jesus is the REASON for the season so why kick against the prick. You will just break a toe or two.

You're a whiner. Why does it bother you that someone else is celebrating their holiday? Does it bother you during Channukah when Jewish people play their music or celebrate? Does it bother you during Easter when little kids go out for an egg hunt? No one is FORCING you to believe in anything, so don't whine when they're having a good time without you.
And as far as Christmas music goes, I realize that a lot of it is REALLY annoying, but have you even HEARD Bing Crosby's Christmas music? Man, that stuff is classy and fantastic. I know it's hard, but try to think positively until the season is over and you feel like the assault on your lack of beliefs is over.

do you not even celbrate christmas? i am not someone you would call a christian but i am not someone you'd call an atheist. i am sorta on the fence about the whole thing. tho i do understand where you're coming from i also see that christmas has become not only about god but about family members reuniting and spending time picking out presents for loved ones. with the stress from school and work and backstabing friends and cowrokers it's nice to stop and sing. now a days they're not usually sung to push religion they're sung to remind people that this should be a happy time for in a world full of greed, frustration and abuse, don't we deserve to remember happiness atleast once a year?

I am no fan of the whole Christmas thing and the higher than average suicide rate this time of year would lead one to believe their are a lot of people out there who are not fans of the season as well. So what to do?
1) Chill out
2) Invest in some quality ear plugs (ask Santa for some)

Well, im atheist also, but i celebrate christmas. But the way i see it your not the only person in this world. People can play whatever music they like whenever. If it is to loud ask them to turn it down. Just cause your atheist doesnt mean that you have to be and asshole about it. Ask politley and you might get what you want.

I am Catholic and some of the Christmas music drives me crazy, too. I can do with some "silent nights" now and then.
If this is the worst thing that happens to you in your lifetime, consider yourself lucky. It's a minor inconvenience. It will all be over in about 8 days.

Okay. So thats kind of hypocritical of you. If you dont believe in our God then thats your business. You complain of us shoving our beliefs and ways down your throat...well basically your doing the same thing by shoving down our throats how you dont believe in our God and you hate the music. Besides. not all xmas music is christian for you information.Atheists and pagans celebrate christmas too. From this complaint i find you very naive and ignorant. But merry christmas.
