Wild polar bears will become extinct. The ones living in zoos will survive, but artificially. The way that polar bears hunt for seals (their primary food source) is by bashing a hole into the ice with their paw. When seals, who are swimming in the water under the ice, surface in this air hole, the bears can grab and eat them. However, with the ice starting to melt, it is breaking apart into smaller chunks of ice instead of one large sheet of ice. If there are gaps between the ice, seals don't need to use the polar bear made holes, and can surface anywhere. This makes it impossible for the bears to get enough food, and they starve because they are easily out swam in the water by the seals and the ice trick is how they are able to survive.

Yes, that is very likely, because polar bears need ice when they hunt sea creatures like fish. They wait for the fish to come to the surface and then they bash through the ice and the only way to save them would either be to stop global warming, or if they adapted to it, which is unlikely.

no, because the ice melts every year, so if they didnt become extinct then, what are the chances of it happening now?
