About 18. I got a tatoo when i was 17. I only got away with it because i said i was 19. I have tons of tattos. I love them!

You have to be 18 ... and if they tell you otherwise, you shouldn't get a tattoo there. Unlike body piercings, a tattoo is permanent, and respectable tattoo parlors won't do it until you're legally of age, even if a parent signs for you. Its the law. If they break the age-limit laws, who knows what other kinds they are breaking ... including sterilization!

Usually 18 but be aware wait until you know exactly what you want. Save a good amount of money and go to someone who is good and proper. I have about 50 bucks worth of tatoos covering my arms and I dont like them at all. I was 18 and stupid It costs lots to remove them or have them covered. Also try to place them where they can be covered. It really will help in the long run.

no respectable artist would tattoo anyone under 18 whether they had parental consent or not.
only artist chasing the all mighty dollar and absolutely nothing else - with no care for your changing body, mind and spirit would touch a minor.

State laws vary...In most of them you have to be 18 years of age to do so. With a parent present most states allow this at 16...
