I am currently suing the bank that I used to work at as a teller because the infringed on my rights. I enjoy wearing a Jar Jar Binks costume, and I wear it almost all the time. My boss said I could not wear it to work. Why doesn't he just tell me to wear a slave outfit. He has no right to control my personal life, including how I dress. Everyone has the right to be themself without being harrassed and threatened. Just because me lifestyle is unusual, does that mean that I have less rights then anyone else? I like to wear a Jar Jar costume, but what if my boss said I can't be in a homosexual or interracial relationship? Then people would defend me. Why can't people accpet me for who I am?

I used to work at a bank and the dress code said to be professional. Is Jar Jar Binks professional? You have to ask yourself that. Also is it reall that necessary to sue over someone's opinion that you are not dressing professional. I think you will be wasting your time and money. Also if someone fired me because I was in an interracial relationship then that would be different but not because you are wearing something that is not of ethic code conduct. No I do not think you have a case.

Unfortunatly, there are rules about dress code at every work place and I doubt a Jar Jar costume is appropriate for a bank (excluding Holloween). No matter where you go to work, you probably won't be able to wear it. Your lawsuit most likely will get thrown out of court or you will ose if it gets that far.

The only way to get away with this is to be born looking like Jar Jar Binks. But since you don't, its back to the same old dress code. Most of us have to follow it anyway.

Let's assume that this is a legitimate question. Just for a goof. Your boss absolutely has the right to tell you what to wear at work. You are representing the company and people are basing their perception of that company by what they see. If the first thing a customer sees is you in your little Star Wars I'm a ****** Clown outfit they are going to go somewhere else. In other words, you have no chance in hell of winning this. Now, back to reality.

You wouldnt win just because it is a place of business. Usually businesses have strict dress codes that you have to follow. Especailly in a bank. Professional attire is needed to conduct certain business. As far as you being weird all your boss wants you to do is be weird on your own time.
