A fact is something that can be observed / measured / seen to be true. If you drop something it falls down is a fact as is evolution. A theory is derived from thinking logically about the facts and coming up with a way of explaining them. Gravity is a theory so is Darwinian evolution By Natural Selection. A hypothesis is an idea which has no evidence to support it and usually undergoes tests/study. god is a hypothesis (although god has never been tested/studied and no evidence has ever been found). I hope this clears some things up. Say no to jesus.

They're lied to and they repeat the lies. If they understood, they wouldn't let themselves get caught lying.

Evolution has been observed in the laboratory and the field enough times to establish natural selection of favorable mutations as fact. Because the mechanisms have been identified, evolution is better established than gravity. Of course, extrapolation of these processes to the origin of all life on Earth is theoretical, but there is excellent evidence, much of it predicted before it was found.

Microevolution is actually a scientific fact. Macroevolution is a theory based on numerous scientific facts such as mutations, natural selection, fossil records, as well as scientific and logical thinking Creation isn't even a hypothesis, a hypothesis is an EDUCATED guess, and requires background research from several RELIABLE sources. To not believe in evolution because there are a few gaps (mind you we have only dug up about 1% of the Earth's surface) is silly, considering creation is a BIG GAPING HOLE.

Because they have been heavily indoctrinated from an early age. They have closed minds and a hand full of trite responses to any question or fact that is at variance to what they believe.

It is a simple fact that all other religions can debate and talk about things that are not in their religious beliefs but that 99.9% of Christians simply cannot do so.

They are the only people in the entire world that believe only they are right. Funnily not even Jesus was supposed to have claimed that so in many ways the real answer is that they all think they are better than God!!

I beg to differ- evolution is really still a theory. Notice I did not say "just" a theory- a scientific theory means much more than most people assume because of the overuse and incorrect use of the word in everyday terms. A scientific theory has to have been tested many times for it to be accepted as "fact"- although "fact" is not at all a scientific term and scientists prefer to avoid using it, just as they prefer to avoid using "proof"- not because they aren't sure of their results, but because to a scientist something can only be falsified using the scientific method, not the other way around. And great theories- again, a serious term to scientists- have defied falsification again and again. For a theory to become a law is even more serious and difficult- and even then, some laws (like Relativity) are later found out to be flawed with more advanced technological testing. Please don't misunderstand; I'm a Biology major, and of course I accepted the theory of evolution long ago, but it irks me to see both opponents and proponents misusing the terms "theory" and "fact".

Not only that, but National Geographic even said it was silly to deny evolution's existence. I've had a religious biology teacher who said it was silly to deny it's existence. Honestly, why is it so hard to believe that when an animal has a beneficial mutation, other animals would mate with it, which would slowly, but surely start the process of evolution? Like on the Galapagos islands, a place where it's been proven that evolution exists, where certain birds of the same species gradually developed longer beaks to reach their food with ease. This would mean one bird was born with a longer beak--which would be labled as a mutation. This longer beak, however, helped him get food. Soon, this bird met a lady bird and had a baby that either had a longer beak or just carried the gene and would pass it on to its offspring.

Sometimes, people really need to open their eyes and stop following the Bible so blindly.

Gee By your definition, YOU must be a Christian. Evolution is NOT a 'fact'. Any scientist can tell you that it is a Theory. And there's NOTHING wrong with that.

A fact is a piece of information.
A theory is a general principal offered to EXPLAIN a fact.
A hypothesis is an assumption made to TEST the viability of an idea.

Try using a dictionary instead of displaying your ignorance.

Just because we're Christians doesn't mean we don't know the difference. We know that Athiest don't believe in God because it's not proven science. But if you think about it though a lot of things aren't proven science, like why does cancer seem to be in everything but no one can find a cure for it?? We believe in God even though he's not proven because we need to have faith that he exists. Miracles happen every day and no one has been able to come up with any logical reason for how it happened. It's all based on one's faith.

evolution is not a fact and gravity is one of the most essential laws in the universe. and you call others unscientfic. Sorry God was been tested and found true by millions and millions of people in their lifes. and sure there are all kind of evedence of God.just because you are like the three monkeys sitting there covering there ears, eyes and mouth.

Alot of them don't care about facts...Facts don't concern the faithfull...Having Faith means that you believe something no matter if all evidence to the contrary points the other way. Not that I agree with them...but they simply ignore facts...and use Faith to justify what they believe.
