Well - I'm a boy, and in my experience, the best romantic relationships I've ever had were with girls I was best friends with.

I've been involved with women with just a romantic connection, and with women who were my friends (really good to best friends).

The relationships that were strictly romantically based generally didn't last all that long... the ones that developed out of friendship lasted longer. And my two longest relationships (6 and 5 years) evolved out of inadvertently getting involved with best friends who happened to be girls.

So, if you are romantically interested in him, and he's your best friend, go for it... you've got the basis for a truly healthy relationship.

There's only so much time one can be all kissey/sexed - the rest is conversation and enjoying each others company.

A best friend is pretty much what we all need and should want in a relationship.
