Actually it is about 3.5 to 4.5 hours depending where in NYC you are starting off at. If you are in Brooklyn or Staten Island you are much closer and if you are in Queens, Bronx or Manhattan you are much further north. Mapquest and yahoo directions are OK but there are faster routes if you know how to cut from 95 south to 295 and back to 95, saves about 25 mins when you are past Philly and approaching Baltimore, after that it hits right into DC. Hope that helps.

it takes between 3 and 5 hours to drive, depending on traffic.
I left NYC once at 3 AM and was in DC in 2:45. with no rest or fuel stop, and with an EZ-Pass.

You could do it in three days easy. No problem. Maybe four days if you stop. If there are two of you driving it is better. Just remember to take 95 North and you will be all set.

trust EITHER MAPQUEST OR YAHOO MAPS. the FIRST ONE GIVES YOU ALMOST THE EXACT DISTANCES IN MILES BETWEEN POINTS I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR DIRECTIONS.
