Ohio Virtual Academy...I know you're in Texas, but they may have a link for other states...

Good Luck!

First of all, nothing reputable will be free. If you search for homeschooling curriculum you will come up with many programs. Link to one: http://www.alliedhighschool.com/

If you want to go the GED route, there are a number of very good prep books out there (the same can be said for the SAT). Also, this site is pretty good: http://www.passged.com/

I would be very, very wary of anything offered for free. However, if you go to Yahoo Groups and search for "GED" you'll come up with a few groups that give lessons free of charge. However, and I can't stress this enough, you really need to supplement the free lessons with information found in the GED prep books. Judging from your post, you might want to focus on the spelling and grammar sections, because there is an essay section on the GED that is pretty harshly graded.

I say this as someone in the know. I was "unschooled," which is a type of homeschooling where I taught myself everything I would have learned in school. I took the GED (which was so simple it was laughable) and got perfect scores on three of five sections. I now go to an Ivy League school. So anything can be done with the GED.

I am doing an online class that is a public school. it's totally free. I'm in 10th grade and they are adding 11th and 12th next year. Go to www.Connectionsacademy.com and you will find stuff that might help you.

Just go back to school. You clearly need the instruction available at your local public school.
