Largely because of the juvenile and outright evil behavior of the loudest of the Christians.
The obvious examples are the antiabortionists, anti-gay folks, the atheist-attackers, and the creationists. Needless to say, people with that kind of immorality are bound to be disliked intensely, especially as they have so much political power. That combination of arrogance, ignorance, immorality, and power should be disliked and worse.

For me it not hate but rather confused and dislike. 1. most do not support gays except to forgive them as if they need forgivness. ( this is a very nice protrait of how some really feel about gays, example: they are going to hell!! thats what is says in the bible. ya right).
2. against abortion but they are not 100% GREEN. how can anyone be pro life and not be Pro EARTH.
"Moyers on America" can be seen on KCET tv channel, just had a 2 hour special reprort on how many preachers are political. MISTAKE - but it is what it is. They aren't democrats who believe in doing something about global warming not to mention a slew of other social issues. instead they support War, basically very conservative views. That was apparent in the last two Pres elections.

I only dislike the smug, self-righteous, holier-than-thou ones - those who refuse to enter into reasonable debate and discussion, but just hammer away with the same old chant: "the Bible is true because the Bible says the Bible is true."
Muslims often get criticised (especially on this site) for being uncompromising - yet I have had more interesting and thought-provoking discussion with muslims recently (with muslim women, about the wearing of the hijab, for example) than I have had with Christians.
And the most interesting conversations of all have been with a Buddhist.

I do not agree with anyone using a book written by men as justification to spread hate and bigotry. Not all Christians do this. Many Christians are intelligent, open minded, and caring people.

I don't dislike them.
Every person has their reasons.
But they are so into their belifes, they don't want to hear or to see to others and go and judge them on what they don't know(some).
I don't like to talk about chirstianity because I don't know anything of it. but if I did, I could answer, otherwise I wont because I don't know the answer.

Some claim to speak for God. And try and tell people "God will kill you if you don't believe what I do."
Not all Christians are like this. Just the most vocal ones.

You've seen what they do and you still have to ask that?
Because they're trying to force everyone else to live by their belief system whether they want to or not. Even going so far as trying to make their religious beliefs into law.

1. They try to force their beliefs on others
2. Many are hypocrites that don't even appear to try to follow Jesus' teachings, but tell you you are going to hell if you don't believe what they do
3. The things the Christian Right are doing in the US government right now.
