Today we just lost our minister that has been with us for the past 6 years. The church is very worried what will happen in our future b/c many people in the church are not very good at remembering to come or give offering. Has this ever happened to anyone? I am very active in the church and want to do anything to help it to survive but I am only a young adult and many of the "other adults" don't look at me like I know what I am talking about. I'd appreciate any help please.

relax, this has happened to many Churches, if your Pastor resigned then he felt it was time to move on, and the bishop of your denomination will appoint an interim pastor to take over the church until you can vote in a full time pastor.
the new Pastor might be what your church need to grow.
put your trust in God and believe that He will always make a way for your success.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I was attending a church that lost the pastor suddenly. Fortunately, everyone understood that although he would be missed, that he was in a much better place and were happy and excited for him.
As with all change, there is always anxiety about what the future will hold. My best suggestion to you is that you pray that God will speak to the church leaders about the best way to handle the financial situation. Volunteer your services in any way that you feel you can help, whether it is perhaps to give the message for a Sunday or to help write checks to pay the bills.
I dont know what your pastor did to get people to pay tithes and offerings that helped pay for church expenses, but remember, you can't force people to pay. If the money isn't there, perhaps the church could move to a smaller building or meet in houses until the finances are put into order.

this also happened to a Church I attended and while we were looking for a new minister several of us took turns each Sunday in giving sermons. this was interesting as everyone had a different topic and most of us learned something we hadn't learned before. much different than the standard basic sermon which stated
" Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls you are going to Heaven or Hell. the choice is up to you. which will it be ? "

Hi there.
I'm sorry for the loss of your minister. As far as I can tell Jesus is the head of the church. You seem to be a Martha sort of person so you are acting just like you should. GOD is still on the throne and will direct your church even if you try to run it yourselves. He's cool like that.
May GOD richly bless you and grant you peace, mercy, and wisdom on your journey home.

Dear golfgirl2,
I do not want to alarm you but the church age ended in 1988. We read in 2 Thessalonians 2 that the Holy Ghost has left ALL the local congregations and satan has taken rule there. In many places in the Bible this truth comes out but people are not following the Bible. All the denominations have their "favorite" scriptures that they continue to advocate. The entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is the Word of God, the Bible. Preachers tend to teach or preach verses that they have learned in their respective seminaries. Please read Jeremiah 23 and the Lord is going to show you something you did not know before. But I am getting off the subject of the end of the church age.
Please read Matthew 24:15, 16. The abomination of desolation is satan. He (satan) has taken his seat in the Holy Place (this is where the Gospel is supposed to be). Judaea is a synonym for the local congregations just as "Jerusalem, and the Temple" are. "Mountain" refers to Christ (Psalms 121). If you now go to Revelation 18, you will find that God is commanding the "true believers" (the elect) to get out of the church because satan is ruling there and NO POSSIBILITY of salvation exists there! In fact, if you remain in the church (Babylon) God is sending a strong delusion that hose who remain will be damned. "If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear."
