well, Stress is when you are streesing about something in your life.. work, relationships..ect... and your anxious about it and depression is when no matter what you do you still can not feel happy, it is like a empty feeling and yes depression does suck but if you put your mind to it and get moving and not sit in the house you will start to feel better.. good luck I know they are both not easy but the only person that can help you is YOURSELF...

The first answer you received was very good. I would just note that stress exacerbates depression--often!

For instance, if you lose your job; you may stress about paying your bills and finding a new job. If you are not able to find a new job, the overwhelming stress may lead to a serious depression.

Many times stress is short term, and yes, while the symptoms can mirror those of depression, they usually only last short term. Depression is a continual feeling of being down without hope of regaining happiness.

There is a huge difference... stress is the feeling of tension and worrying; depression is a sadness lurking inside.

stress is when your pressured under the acculmination of many things and feel ill at ease or panicky over it,

depression is when you feel down. depression can occur when stressed. many ppl when stressed will try to get everytihng done, and over do it, while someone with depression will probably just go to sleep to escape the stress

Stress is a symptom of depression. Depression is a feeling of hopelessness. Its something that you cant just snap out of.
