You don't baste a ham. If you're going to put a glaze on it do it within the last 30-45 minutes of cooking or it will all melt off and disappear. A ham is pretty easy to make. If you buy a fully cooked ham all you're really doing is making it hot through. I very much recommend a fully cooked ham. I always buy the Cook's brand - don't know if they have it where you are. Put a cup or so of water in the roasting pan, put the ham in cut side down, and stick it in there. Follow the directions on the label for time - they should be on there. I put the roaster lid on mine.

Good luck with your Christmas dinner - we're having ham too, mashed potatoes, corn pudding, cranberries, fruit salad, hot rolls, and mince and apple pie for dessert. Merry Christmas!

You can baste a ham with the glaze just . I use a pineapple juice with brown sugar mixture, put slices in the ham, take the baster and put the mixture into each slice so the flavor will go through. Sut in the refrigerator overnight and bake it the next morning, and the glaze does not evaporate. Also slow cook your ham in order to make extra moist. Put the pineapples over the ham while it marinates also, and cook them with the ham.

Try putting it in a roasting bag and bake at 350 for about 2 hours. You won't have to baste it and it comes out so tender and juicy.
