The court who ordered it normally has a list of places that accept community service workers. I live in a very small rural community. So the places here would be the sheriffs office, the municipal court house, the local domestic violence agency (administrative offices) the local good will industries, the department of job and family services, the department of streets and recreation for clean up. good luck and God bless****

If you are looking for a good volunteer program, get in touch with CASA. CASA is a court appointed state advocate for abused children. After you become approved, you receive a appointment from the Supreme Court of your State
You are sworn in, and then attend many hours of classes to become a full fledged volunteer.
You go into the homes of abused children and just observe, write your report, then turn it in to the local court having jurisdiction over the juvenile system in your area. When the case goes to court, you appear on behalf of the child. There is a tremendous need for this type of volunteer.

Most in Tampa, Florida do it though a church or other religious group. If you can get involved in feeding the homeless, it's probably the most rewarding. Good Luck!
