The person who listed this as a question is wrong, it is a statement. If he/she is asking if the baby can stay here then my answer is- Why should it? Let Nigeria pay for your lack of a condom!

If a British citizen fathers a child but isn't married to his foreign partner, the child does not receive automatic citizenship.
This does not apply if the mother is a British citizen, but the father is not.
So the answer is no. The baby is not automatically a UK citizen.

yes the baby is alltomatically bitish citizen because the baby was born in england it does not matter if too illegal immigrant have a child here that child is british i have a child with an illegal immigrant and the child was born here the child is british

Im a white canadian girl and my partner is english,our baby was born and registered here so she is british.BUT if she wants to stay because of that im afraid she cannot she will have to return,as i will have to and im having a harder time then she will to stay here and im commonwealth!!!so if u think the way for her to become leagle is a baby u are sadly mistaken!!!and as for the comment on british girls its the same with all races and places!!if a girl is a tart she is a tart!did u ever think that maybe these girls are like that because they are treated like secondclass citizans in their own country?maybe a little less hatred to the citizans of the country who support u and house you yeah?!jmc

Anyway I don't blame whoever wants to date a non-white british girl not whem all of the white british girls have been knocked up at the age of 12 and having different father s for their numerous kids by the time they are 16 years of age. The fact that your baby was born in England means that IT IS English excluding the nationality of either parents, you need to obtain a birth certificate proving that the child was born in the UK.
Once you have done this then your child can obtain a British passport by law.
This however doesn't mean that you can stay in this country as you are an illegal alien because you are not married and i am guessing that you have not lived in the UK for more than 6 years.
But i do think that this does mean that your child can stay in the UK but you will need to actually find this out for sure.
You can go to your local CAB (citizens advice bureau) where you can get proper legal advice.

If your unmarried and the father is a UK citizen, then the child is not a British citizen automatically.
The child however, may be registered as a British citizen. I would recommend that you do this as soon as possible.
