yes. everything has an expiration date. it could also taste bad because the smells in your house can be absorbed into the coffee. making it taste like a slurry of gross flavors.
i would keep coffee in an air tight container.

Not really, ground coffee can stay in a container more than one year, but it`s better if you drink fresh ground coffee, so get rid of that right away..

yes.. it gets rancid after a while and will taste like axel grease.. though ive never tried axel grease, but it tastes like that smells
after all.. coffee is a roasted bean.. bean is a vegetable and they will rot at some point in time..
I usually store a bag of ground coffee in my freezer.. and take whats needed to make my coffee..

Yeah, I suppose it can. Store it in the freezer between uses to extend the shelf life.
