OK - everyone doesn't have to call me a moron and such. I have been giving my child Children's Cold and Cough medicine. I was just curious, if ever in a pinch, would it be OK to give him just a dose until I could get some more children's medicine.

Don't give an adult medicine to a child. especially a cold medicine. These have side effects. Kindly consult your doctor.

None until you've done as the label says and checked with a certified medical practitioner...there are ingredients in adult meds that can seriously harm a child at this age .... don't try to self medicate it can be very dangerous!

Medicines are not given based on age, they are given based on weight. By giving a child an adult medicine, you could hurt him/her or even kill them. You may go to your local Walgreen's and/or CV pharmacy and the pharmacist will give you the correct medication and dosage instruction.

There are some ingredients that may be harmful to the child based on his/her age and weight. Call your childs doctor and ask if it is okay to give and how much should be given. Generally the nurse or doctor will tell what you need to know.

My daughter is 9 months old and has a cold. Saline drops by Little Noses helps loads in clearing her nose. That seems to make her comfortable enough to deal with the cough

In a pinch.... run to the store! Your child will not die from a cold or cough, so get off your butt and get the proper medication instead of taking chances with your child's health.
